HOUSTON LIFESTYLE NEWBORN PHOTOGRAPHER | WHAT IS THE IDEAL AGE FOR NEWBORN PORTRAITS?
Expecting mamas in the Houston area often ask when inquiring about a newborn session: What’s the ideal age for newborn portraits? The ideal time for newborn portraits is within the first 14 days. During this magical window, babies tend to be more sleepy, allowing for me to create those dreamy, serene images you see in my portfolio. But don’t worry if you miss the window—beautiful portraits can still be captured at any stage. Baby just may be more awake & alert.
Under 2 weeks: Babies tend to be blissfully sleepy, making it easy to capture those precious, peaceful first moments.
2-4 weeks: Babies are still tiny, but their growing curiosity leads to wide-eyed, expressive photos.
1-3 months: This is a great age to capture early smiles and expressions. For babies more than 3 months documenting tummy time is always a favorite.
Mandi specializes in newborn, family and motherhood sessions in the Houston area including Katy, Memorial, The Heights, West University Place, River Oaks, Rice Village, Bellaire, Cypress, and Fulshear. Please click here if you are interesting in learning more about the Portrait Experience.
